We picked potbelly to grab a soft drink. When we noticed they offered milk shakes we were excited. The shakes were ok, nothing special. It was "cute" for them to put 2 tiny cookies over the straw, too bad the cookies were not fresh, very mushy. The menu wasn't exciting either. We grabbed our shakes and moved on.

Your typical Potbelly. I dropped by for lunch and found a longish wait but a worker with an iPad taking orders in the line. It seemed to worked and sped folks through the line. The crew behind the counter were luke warm at best. Probably jaded by the crush of rude convention attendees they must see on a regular basis. I was out in good time though with my sandwich. There are plenty of spots outside to eat if so inclined. Since it was a beautiful day, I scored an adirondack chair in the nearby main square overlooking the river.

Food was really good. I didn't care for the ordering process it is confusing for people who haven't ever been there. The shakes are really really good.

It's a Potbelly. If you've been to one, then you've been to them all. I remember when it was a one size fits all sandwich, but they have progressed to the Bigs and the Skinny. I know that I will get a pretty solid sandwich if I eat at a Potbelly.

Love this shop at lunch time. Close to DC where I work. Some of the best subs I've ever had, 10x better than Submway and cheaper too.

I would give this place 5 stars without a doubt if it weren't for the poor service I received when I went there. This is one of the best sandwich places I've ever been to and reasonably priced as well! I ordered the big roast beef sandwich on white bread and substituted cheddar cheese for provolone and loved it so much that I also ordered the Greek (or maybe it was called Mediterranean?) sandwich on flatbread, which was also really good. I wish this place offered footlong sandwiches instead of nine inches, because it is so delicious! It can get pretty busy though making the wait to get your food lengthy, but it is totally worth it! Unfortunately, I had a bad experience when paying for my order. One of the servers mistakenly wrote that I ordered bacon, which has an extra charge, on my sandwich. The lady at the register made me unwrap my sandwich and open it for her to verify that I actually didn't have bacon, which I didn't. I found the whole situation pretty rude. I don't think the bacon was even worth going that far to make sure I wasn't lying. She didn't even apologize for the fact that an error was made in my order and that I was almost charged extra for something I did not even get. Despite my experience with horrible service, I would still go back for more Potbelly in my belly-- hopefully without the headache from another bad service experience next time.

Great sandwitch. Great staff. As expected from this chain restaurant, this branch does not disappoint. They are even open (and happy) later night.

I'm usually a fan of Potbelly. However, I thought this location was just okay. I ordered the Farmhouse salad with grilled chicken. It had waaaay too much farmouse and not enough salad! I never had a salad with so much blue cheese and hard-boiled eggs pieces in my life. I needed more lettuce...and that's something you will rarely hear me say! I also asked for no red onions since I'm not a fan. But, my salad had them anyway. Since I've heard so many good things about their shakes, I also ordered an Oreo shake to take back with me after I finished my salad. Again had waaaaaaaaaaaay too much of an ingredient. This time...milk. It didn't have that thick consistency of milkshakes. Any ice cream that was in there though was pretty good. Seating was plentiful and the line moved fairly fast during the lunch rush. I liked how they had seating outside for days when the weather is nice. Overall, service was friendly and efficiently, but the food wasn't up to par to other locations. I'll probably skip this location next time I'm at the Harbor.

Great hot sandwich. Thin sub roll toasted well. Peppers made it special. Could have gotten a small soup with it and they looked good. Big selection of chips and cookies. Good place for kids or low cost working lunch. Music is great.

Want to have Smoked Ham so i went here. They have this small nice place, dining tables were great. They had this pleasant ambiance that I loved the most. Ordered the smoked ham, it was fantastic. Love it with the swiss cheese.

All of the potbellys are typically the same, and I'm glad cause chain restaurants should be like that. Potbelly is better than subways and quiznos. BUT they have less choices than subways. I like potbellys because it's cheap and also has quality. It's almost the same level as panera. ANYWAY. it's a good place. Just go for a lunch. :)

Good sandwiches and friendly (though not accurate) service. We hit it at the right time, too. After we sat down, the line got pretty long. They got one sandwich wrong (we asked for no mushrooms), but, since it wasn't an allergy requirement, we just picked them off. Might go again, but won't go out of our way for it.

Very good sandwiches at a reasonable price, but my friend asked for white bread and got wheat and I asked for no mushrooms and they were on my sandwich. Overall good food but not the best service

*Back to Bad* After a recent spate of writing positive reviews, I'm back to complaining. For lunch I ordered a regular-size Mediterranean sandwich with Swiss cheese today (subbed for feta). Very excited to get a sandwich with this menu description: "zippy hummus, feta, artichoke hearts, crispy cukes and roasted red peppers." Sounds amazing, right? Instead, I got a desultory, dull little sandwich with only a thin spread of hummus and cheese. None of the veggies to be found, though a few bits of shredded lettuce limped out of the bag when I opened it like sad confetti (and there is no lettuce on my sandwich). The service was unsmiling and bored. I can't even be clever about this, I'm so grumpy. Not worth $5, maybe $1.50.

Awesome staff! Awesome food! Definitely worth the cost, neat and clean! Highly recommended I will continue to go back, better than firehouse subs.

In the sea of overpriced garbage that surrounds the convention center, Potbellys is the one place I would go for the fun of it. These guys are amazing. The food is good, the line is quick (if there even is one) and everything is incredibly inexpensive. You can easily get food and drinks for two for we

Service. Service. Service. Need a lot of work. Not sure if they change staff, but it wasn't the same anymore. I only experience lunch hours.

My sandwich was served fast and hot. It was reasonably priced, full of flavor, and I had a great view of the National Harbor while I was eating. Overall, this is a great place to grab a quick bite.

My office orders food from here ALL the time. We always order online and our order is always ready at the time they promise. The service is great and the food is even better :) Oh! And it's super affordable, I can eat here for under $10 and in this day and age it's hard to find a quality lunch for less than $10.

Great selection. Good value. Solid shakes! When they ask which toppings, say, "All of em!"

I've been to this location many times before because I live nearby. Today, I chose to eat here with my 10 month old daughter and invited my friend along with her 2 and 3 year olds. We ordered in advance online (easy to order). We placed our order at 11:10 and was able to pick it up by 11:30. When we arrived at 11:30 am to the restaurant, our order was almost ready. The only thing that was missing was my uptown salad, which they already knew and was getting it together. The cashier who greeted us was nice from the beginning up until the point where I asked her if I could use my resident discount on my order. She did not give me any eye contact after that, was punching some keys on the register and reluctantly told me yes I can use my discount. After that, she was no longer acting friendly and kept on punching keys for what seemed like eternity (especially when you have little ones in tow). I plan on coming back because the food is decent but staff needs to work on their interpersonal skills when working with customers.

The food was good, however the service was horrible. I was treated like an inconvenience from start to finish. If you can deal with horrible customer service then you'll be fine but the food definitely didn't out weigh the lack of service.

Had lunch here today. The line moved swiftly, prices were good and food wqs delicious. This was my first time eating here. I'm sold. Subways is old news. I got the Wreck sandwich. OMG. It was so tasty! Not much to say about this smalll sandwich shop other than their great!

Life Rule #6: "With everything" is the way to order ... everything. A Big Potbelly "The Wreck" Sandwich was such a great deal ($5.50) for lunch at National Harbor that I almost went back every day during a recent stay at a nearby hotel. So many other places in the isolated area are over-priced and way over-priced, that I'd almost lost hope of finding any restaurant offering delicious food at acceptable prices until a friend's recommendation to check out Potbelly. The Wreck "with everything" has Salami, Roast Beef, Turkey, Ham & Swiss Cheese with Mayo, Mustard, Hot Peppers (yum), Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Pickles, Oil & Italian Seasoning. There are two sizes: Original or Big and since I have a Potbelly it makes since I got the "Big" on Regular Bread. From the first bite until the last lick of my fingers, I knew this was a sandwich for me. The Hot Peppers really give this sub some mojo while the combination of meats and soft bread perform a triple Salchow on your tongue. The only negatives were the 20 minute line backed up to the entrance and a lack of available seats. For a busy place, it had a nice atmosphere and was clean. Absolutely, a big yummy recommendation for Potbelly.

I don't think I've EVER had as bad of a food experience eating somewhere as i had here. They messed up my order twice after i had put no pork on my pizza sandwich, on top of that i had an employee tell me its not pepperoni but it is pork so its okay? Oh and as im writing this review they messed up my order for the third time?!?!?!?! Ive never experienced such a horrendous ordering experience. I haven't even eaten yet after waiting an hour and i don't even know it the sandwich will be hot. UGHH

Yummy food! Being a newbie to the east coast I had no clue where to go. I found this little gem from my phone and wow am I glad I did! Everyone was super friendly and willing to help me, explained anything I needed clarified, and the food was delicious! The price was surprising. Very reasonable! If you're out here visiting, don't miss this place.

Great prices for National Harbor, cool atmosphere. Loved the meatball sub. My wife had the Italian...I thought it was so-so. They have good bread with typical cold cut meats and cheese. Don't go out of your way.

The food was pretty good. For some reason, most sandwich shops like this overprice the soup by a couple bucks. I got a large sandwich and a bowl of chili (which was actually the size of a 'cup') and a bottled drink, which came to $14 with tax. This is one of the few cheapest places to eat in National Harbor so I dined there twice during the week instead of eating dinner at the nearby Gaylord hotel. Most of the employees who work there clearly don't give a crud though. Zero personality - they seem to be friends, and that the customers are outside of their clique. When I told the snotty girl making the sandwich that I didn't want mayo or mustard on the Grilled Chicken and Cheddar, she said, "Too late, I already put that on." Actually I'm glad she did because the bread was pretty dry. The gals at the cashier were nicer though. Four stars for food, two stars for service (3 stars total).

Ordered the Mediterranean sandwich on wheat. It was pretty good and very filling. They toast it which actually made the entire sandwich. Fast service and nice staff.

First time in a Pot Belly and I felt like it is a cross between a Panera and a Subway. Taking a little bit of the best from both of them. You could pick the type of bread you wanted. I liked the fact you could put all the fresh ingredients you desired on your sandwich. I had the pick two with a soup and a mushroom sandwich. Also liked that they had low calorie and healthy sandwiches and soups. I enjoyed the spicy soup and the sandwich. Others had the milkshake and totally approved. It looked delicious. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. I thought the prices were very reasonable for the area. It was good to sit down outside and watch the people walk by. They also had a musician playing a guitar inside and singing for the patrons. I thought the service was ok and the line moved well. I will definitely check this place out again. I know they are all around just never stopped in.

area: easy to get to, only 10 min or less walk from the convention center inside: the design to get food, take out or dine in was a little confusing. it had a small little area for the line to start but sitting was difficult cause it was crowded. they had live music, which was nice. staff: Upon waiting on the line you placed your order an they made your sandwich in front of you for the most part, you got to see what was put on it. food: I got the grilled chicken with chedder sandwich on wheat bread, my bf got A-wreck and Tuna salad both on wheat bread. price wise it was ok, cause i expected to pay a little bit out of town, all sandwiches where pretty tasty but i dont think it was worth the price. i also got the peppermint shake both times...i loved it, it came with a cookie on the straw but the 2nd time they didnt put a cookie and the cashiers response was "we didnt prep it...." and stared at me when i asked for one. i was waiting for i am sorry miss, we are out/unable to put it on due to....blah blah....i work in retail. if your unable to do your normal service because of an unexpected crowd ( which it was valentines weekend ) you should be more on point with the excuse. used this place to get food outside of the Gaylord international convention. The food was good, for a sandwhich place, upon coming home i saw one in NYC....i found it amusing i wouldnt visit it tho

Are you ready?.. Really Ready? You there, in National Harbor.. You there for some convention.. guess what.. THE BEST FOOD ANYWHERE, THE BEST SERVICE and THE BEST PRICES! YES!. Forgot all those "Trendy" hotel / ultra-lounge / china / whatever you want to call it places.. Forgot them all my flock of sheep, with your amex cards and corporate accounts. You there, drop your $13 (not really starbucks, but looks like it, hotel coffee) yes, I'm mocking ALL OF YOU!. Forget, all of that.. go get you a pot belly sub, tasty, decent, well priced quick service. Best not to wear your suit and tie to this joint, jeans and a T is good, you don't want to look out of place now do ya sheep!

As a National Harbor resident, I was happy to see a Potbelly open up here. My usual go-to is the Big Italian on white bread with everything on it, including their signature hot peppers. I actually buy a jar of their hot peppers for home creations. The wreck is my next fave. Like any sandwich shop, the line can get long during peak hours, but even then, the staff has been friendly and efficient. If you're short on time in National Harbor and prefer a sandwich, Potbelly is one to think of.
(4)
Louis P.
It's your typical Potbelly sandwich place so nothing new there. Considering some of the other restaurants in National Harbor, this is probably the best bang for the buck. Sandwiches are good as are some of their soups and all with reasonable prices. I ordered The Wreck with a bowl of Southwestern Chicken soup for about $15. Both were pretty good and the atmosphere is pretty cool too. The staff? Well, it can be hit or miss really. Somedays they are okay while others can be a total pain in the ass. When I went, everything was cool so I got my order pretty quickly. Other times YOU have to wait until the staff are done yapping about their social lives. Overall, nice place to grab a good, inexpensive meal at National Harbor.

"A Wreck" was not even close to a wreck! In fact, it was a masterpiece with salami, juicy roast beef, turkey, ham, and swiss in a toasted wheat bun. I got it thin cut which made the meat stand out more, along with all the toppings. It was so good, I got the Italian the next day which was just as great, but with a little more kick. Their PB&J was filling and basic....nothing special. Also had their garden veggie soup, which was perfect on a snowy day. Their mini oatmeal chocolate chip soft cookies are perfect for just about any day of the year. I had to go back to pick up an extra dozen of these scrumptious morsels before leaving the state. I'm not a big fan of Subway, Togos, or Quiznos...but when it comes to chain sandwich shops, Potbelly and Capriotti's in Vegas are in a league of their own. Too bad there are no Potbelly Sandwiches in my neck of the woods. I would visit them almost everyday! Thanks for the recommendation GC!

Slow service!!! Need about three more people on the line and another cashier. Sub was lukewarm by the time I got it b/c the line took so long. Guy making my sub almost gave away my sub to the lady in front of me and I had to point out their mistake. Had told them we wanted a side of soup too but if course there wasn't any waiting when we went to pay. At that point, I didn't want if anymore anyway. Would not return!

After experiencing in room dining at Gaylord National just up the street, I decided that going out for our meal was a better deal than getting bent over by the extreme prices for room service. The fees from just our first dinner alone would have paid for our two big sandwiches, a bowl of soup, and a shake (just under $20). Thank you Yelp for pointing me in the right direction. I decided to place the order online and picked it up after I did a trip to CVS that was a quick walk down the street from the hotel. After I picked up my miscellaneous stuff at the drugstore, I walked a few minutes north west to Potbelly. I skipped the order line since this was placed ahead of time. As I walked up to the counter by the cash registers, Ashley was just finishing up the A Wreck on wheat that I ordered. She left the Coffee shake for last so she could verify the quantity and flavor of the shake. The order was bagged up and ready to go. I paid $19.93 exactly. She was really kind to give me a big bag with handles so I can put all the food including stuff from the drugstore. For our first night room service dinner, we were charged $24.00 in fees and taxes. What a bunch of bull-oney! We were so tired from our travelling from LAX that we thought it was more convenient to order crappy room service. It wasn't all that good either. I think that my wife and I will be having Potbelly for most of the week. From most of the information from Yelp users that Potbelly is one of the most reasonable places to eat cost wise. My Bigs A Wreck sandwich was delicious. The Bigs version is "30% more of what you love", it's a dollar more for the upgrade from the Originals version. I thought it was totally worth it considering I was saving about 80% eating at Potbelly vs. room service. I had a few spoons of my wife's Loaded Baked Potato soup, it was really delicious, creamy with potato chunks and very warm. It was so much better than the corn-crab chowder from the hotel. The Bigs Meatball on wheat with everything on it was too much for my wife so, she gave me the other half. I had already wolfed down the A Wreck, which was not a very neat sandwich. It was very juicy with the dressings and all. I have two grease spots on my green jeans. Something that will always remind me of Potbelly in National Harbor, thanks a bunch. I would say that there's enough salt in there because I was so thirsty hours after eating dinner.

Line took too long at they seemed to not have it together. had to ask the person to repeat multiple times what she was asking. Highly unimpressed.
(2)

The sandwich wasn't bad, but not earth shattering. It's like one step up from a Subway. Prices are reasonable, and the menu is simple. But this isn't a place I'd say should be on your top ten places to eat in this area. Or any area really.

Food was great however the lady prepping my sandwich was too busy cracking jokes instead of making my sandwich the right way.

Very disappointed! I took my grandson there again on 12/30/14 he loves the chili. Lines were very long and moved extremely slow, no place to sit and to cold with a 4 year old to sit out side. But my biggest complaint and why I won't be going back again after many tries at this location in National Harbor. Customer service sucks, rude personal, including one who even looked strung out on something. Sloppy and most of all extremely dirty and unsanitary looking place to eat or purchase food. Trash all over floor, condiment counter didn't even want to go near, multiple napkin dispensers empty, tables and chairs dirty, walls around tables looked like they haven't been cleaned since you opened and trash over flowing in the trash bins. Yes it was 1:30 during lunch hour but still no excuse for it to look so unsanitary and it doesn't seem to improve over time. I can only imagine what the prep areas must look like. Maybe need to have someone out on the floor to see, watch and clean things up even during busy times. Though like I said above the condition of walls didn't just happen during this lunch hour. Would not recommend this location or be going back.

Stopped in here for a quick bite before headed on the Water Taxi to Old Town. Service was quick and efficient - love my veggie sandwich here. Note: it got INSANELY crowded as soon as we took our seats. I think it's pretty hit or miss for crowds because it was empty when we stepped in!

On the sandwich scale, Potbelly rates above Quizno's and WAY above Subway. Not quite mom-and-pop or New York deli quality, but pretty solid. The sandwich menu is simple enough that you're not overwhelmed by options. Your American basics, made right before your eyes. Ingredient quality, texture, balance and size are all good. I would avoid ordering the large unless you have two people to share it. When toasted, everything melts together into a gooey, delicious blob with a slightly crunchy shell... making me hungry just writing about it. 3 stars- it's one of the better sandwich chains out there and makes tasty food, but it's still about what you expect from any low-price sandwich place. The tables are a little greasy, not super personal service, and the ingredients look like they arrive at the restaurant already-prepared (aka not amazingly fresh, but still ok). A pretty darn tasty sandwich though!
(3)
Brian M.
Food was good, but soup was a little greasy. Would have given more stars but staff wasn't as helpful as I thought they could be and the music was too loud. It was 11:15 am so they just opened on Sunday am. Maybe too much partying Saturday pm. Restaurant owner please check your music sound levels! Did enjoy my sandwich and found prices to be just right.

Despite the wait during the lunch rush I enjoyed the food---it was well flavored, appealing to look at it, and quite filling.

Heard so much about this place (even when I was visiting Chicago) and hadn't even tried the one in Portland yet, so we tried it here. They have a lot to pick from and service was pretty good and quick. Taste-wise, I thought it was ok. It's definitely above Subway standards and even Quiznos, but nothing too fancy (like Ike's in the Bay Area). Still tasty sandwiches, though

This Potbelly gets crowded at lunch time, so go a little before or a little after "lunch" time, let's say around 1:30 or so. I had their baked potato soup and man I loved it!! I went back to get it again and wth they didn't have it. Can I tell you I was PISSED!! It was raining outside and cold and windy, this would've been perfect to have! They have this lunch soup and sandwich combo, great right, yes and no. When I get to the register it was "oh, that sandwich isn't a part of the deal.." um then the person taking orders should've told me that!! Oh, it's just a few extra dollards I have to charge you...O_O...Yeah that's how I looked. Not really happy with the simple service, the food is much better than the service. Overall it's nice to have one closer than DC, but it's just some things that bother me a bit.

This is your typical Potbelly's. Good sandwiches, AWESOME shakes/malts and at at reasonable price. In the National Harbor area everything seems to be way overpriced; however, it appears that Potbelly's has kept their prices the same. I'm a fan of the italian and seem to always talk myself into an oreo shake as well. It's set up pretty much like a subway or other sandwich place: walk in, stand in line, order your sandwich and slide yourself to the left. Once it comes out of the oven it's time to pick your toppings (look at the board in front of you) and then slide left again to pay. If you want a bottled soda or drink grab it from the fridge before you order the sandwich, otherwise just go for a fountain drink. They also sell cookies which are quite tasty. Overall it's quick, not overpriced and a pretty darn good sandwich if you ask me.
(4)
Lawrence C.
I'm kinda sick of Potbelly's so this review is somewhat skewed. The problem is that I'm not really a sandwich guy, and for some reason all my friends are. Its a good sandwich, but to me, sandwiches are just really bland and unimaginative.
(3)
Stephen B.
Went for lunch based on prior reviews - at 1pm there was a line but it moved well. Great service and food - and great hot peppers. Amazing how they have kept prices down-but based on crowd-they are doing better than most at the harbor. I only wish that my BIG version truly had more meat. Great bread and - amazing shakes We will be back

This was the only affordable and quick place to get a meal in National Harbor, so my fellow conference attendees and I came here for dinner one day. The Wreck is a really popular sandwich, but I opted for a Pizza sandwich without cheese. It was delicious! I'd definitely come here again...now I wish we had Potbelly on the West Coast. :)

This is a chain that I have stopped at in a number of different areas. For fresh tasting sandwiches it is actually amazing that they can be so consistent. If you are looking for a quick, fresh sandwich then I suggest giving them a try. They also have really good soup and the entire meal is very reasonably priced.
(4)

Service is far too slow. The shop wasn't crowded, but twenty minutes elapsed before our order was taken. The line was not terribly long, but moved so slowly that I can't really recommend this location. Potbelly usually does an exceptional job of moving their line along quickly, but this store location seemed to make very little effort to emulate the sound crowd-control practices of their other locations.

I was walking around Maryland, enjoying the wonderful scenery and came across this sandwich place. Due to the three hours differences, my dinner was lunch :-) I ended up ordering the BIG (9 inch for only $5.50) Wreck sandwich, it was recommended by the cashier lady. It consisted of salami, roast beef, ham and turkey with swiss cheese. Oh boy was she right. I had the sandwich on wheat bread with everything on it besides pickles. The sandwich was delicious, the hot peppers gave a remarkable kick to it and the bread was not too thick. The sandwich toasted made it more remarkable. I would definitely come back. Hek I'm here for a week.... Sooo an update... I came back two days later and ordered the Italian sandwich with small vanilla milk shake. The sandwich is good as usually and the shake was pretty good.

Yummm! Best meal for our money in national harbor! And if you love hot peppers on your sandwiches-they have some of the best!

Went here to get a sandwhich before getting on the train. I go an italian sub. They had live music inside and the place is very "National Harbor". Ive never had an italian sub that wasnt served cold. They toasted that bad boy. It was pretty good, but the bread looked sketchy prior to toasting. I guess thats why they toast it. Prices were decent. They had some chips that weren't typical which we alright. Weird vibe inside. Sandwhich wasnt anything to write home about. Wouldn't go out of my way to go here again, but better than subway.

Place was good...actually yes good but what made it good was the fact in the middle of all these expensive restaurants this place had really good prices. I got the skinny combo with soup.

Although every Potbelly I have ever been to has been awesom this one deserves a shout out. No matter how swamped this place gets with crazy Katsucon goers, they always have pretty good service. Special shout out to Lady "D" for serving up a great sandwhich with a smile!

This was the only place in the National Harbor on a busy and beautiful Saturday night that didn't have a wait! If you don't look at a National Harbor map, though, you might not know that this place exists because the entire row of restaurants and shops is right by the water. The service was fast, and the sandwiches were up to Potbelly standards. I LOVE Potbelly!

We had the pizza sub the other night, the big one. Their big sub isn't so big. Heard raving comments about Potbelly Sandwich works, so I was excited to say the least. Two stars because its exactly that--"Meh. I've experienced better." there was nothing special about the sandwich, but nothing terrible either. Employees were nice here, but not overly friendly. The vibe inside the store is interesting. It feels comfy inside. They've got a nice assortment unique beverages, including glass-bottled-sodas. Not really impressed, but not disgusted either. Wouldn't eat here again unless we absolutely had to, and definitely wouldn't go out of the way for it. When I want a sandwich, my heart is still at the Italian Store. Yum....Italian Store......

Any place in National Harbor where two people can eat for under $15 should get 5 stars. I got the Italian sub and it was delicious! The place was very busy but still very clean. My only complaint was that the staff was EXTREMELY inarticulate. It was very, very hard to understand what they are saying. Still, they were quick and the experience was good.

If you find yourself broke and at national harbor this is one of the few places you can afford to eat in the area. Potbelly is a step above many other sub/sandwich chains which offers some flavor with you food. i am a fan of their mushroom melt, friendlier on your waist but generous with flavor. served warm, but several of their options are cold cuts. They often have impressive soups and the service is relatively hassle free.

Great sandwiches at an affordable price. No wonder this place is jammed packed from 11:00 to 2:00pm. Be prepared to wait in line for lunch.

Average sandwich shop, very few toppings and this particular restaurant has below avg. Customer service

Cheap, awesomely fresh. I got the Wreck. Nicely toasted (unlike Q***nose, which over-toasts.) Pickle was crisp and refreshing. My wife got a banana shake and she loved it. SHe's pretty picky about those so it must have been good.

I only heard about this place before. While staying at the Gaylord National, we found one there. The sandwiches are awesome. On my first visit I had the smoked ham w/Swiss on wheat. Second visit, the Italian. Both were awesome. Everything about it. The warm, toasted, bread, everything inside were packed in just right. Just the right amount of ingredients. Not too much, not too little. I can't wait to try a different one! Also try their "real" milkshakes. Very, very good. I had a medium size chocolate. I was served what looked like a large. No complaints. Should've ordered the small. I hope somebody opens up one where I live.

O you rude manager with the short hair! I love potbelly, but the manager was the rudest ever! I do not know if she was hot that day or what, but was the rudest ever! O I think I said that twice! lol! She just was. As I ordered my big turkey on wheat, with swiss! & on to my fixings here goes that rude manager woman ( might I add with the short hair) ask me what topping did I want, while doing dat she was fussing with another customer that was rude back to the manager. So I tell her my fixings & she tell's me to hurry up, because she is still fussing with the other customer. How in the heck can people treat you like that, when you are buying food from their establishment. How rude r u? After all that my sandwich was great! But the service sucked an apple! lol.

There were 5 us. We had taken the ferry from Alexandria. Potbelly's is practically the first place you see. The sandwiches were hot and flavorful. Since it was a nice day, we sat outside -- what a pleasant experience. We had 2 children with us & they gobbled up their sandwiches. This is a great place for lunch before exploring all the shops, etc.

The team members are great and the managers are excellent as well as friendly. The food is decent and they have a few good healthy-eating choices.

Is it wrong that my 5 year old is addicted to Potbelly? She loves the roast beef, no cheese and just lettuce...toasted. Me, I'm in love with the hot peppers on my Italian sandwich. Bought be a jar to take home.

Potbelly in general is always a 4-5 for me, but this one's a bit off. The food's just as good as any other Potbelly (excellent and filling sandwiches, soup, and milkshakes . . . and other things, but that's all I always get, except for the occasional IBC soda), and the atmosphere's just as warm and comfortable. It's smaller than most Potbellys I've been too, but seating usually isn't a problem, and, if it is, there's plenty of seating outside, at the restaurant and around National Harbor Plaza. The odd thing to me is the experience -- I often wonder if this is a training Potbelly because the service is much more confused and less efficient than the streamlined process of most Potbellys and they have several training certificates on the wall, which I haven't noticed at others. The staff is also somewhat surly and bored, where most Potbelly staffs are fun and lighthearted. Regardless, it's a relatively cheap option for good food in National Harbor.

Place was good...actually yes good but what made it good was the fact in the middle of all these expensive restaurants this place had really good

Stayed in National Harbor over the week and just wanted a simple sandwich. I ordered " A Wreck" consisted of ham, turkey and bacon. It was really good and a welcome change to the wannabe fancy dining in the area. Service was friendly and quick, and the premises was very clean. I give it four stars for the service and tasty menu.

One of the latest locations added to the Potbelly Sandwich Works chain, it still does not disappoint. The hot peppers are a must try if you like spicy. You can even purchase a jar to take home. The milkshake with the adorable butter cookie around the straw is a signature of Potbelly and should as a rule, always accompany any sandwich eaten here. It's like Yin and Yang, Jack and Coke, Mork and Mindy...one just can't go without the other.

I've heard great things about this place. But I must say don't believe the hype. It's just your regular neighborhood sandwich place that's made to order. It may be just a tad bit better than Subway. No 5 dollar footlongs here.

This place is great. The ice cream sandwich is the best I have ever had. The cookies are baked fresh , and then they put ice cream in between. The sandwiches are a great value and full of flavor. They are toasted. I say it is a must try if you are in the area. If you don't get the ice cream sandwich you are missing out.

Definitely good value for the food. Uptown salad with candied walnuts, cranberries, apples and blue cheese was very good. I wish they served a raspberry vinaigrette with it. Sandwiches are tasty and filling.

(4)Michael K.
(3)Berna A.
Food was really good. I didn't care for the ordering process it is confusing for people who haven't ever been there. The shakes are really really good.
(3)Shaun S.
It's a Potbelly. If you've been to one, then you've been to them all. I remember when it was a one size fits all sandwich, but they have progressed to the Bigs and the Skinny. I know that I will get a pretty solid sandwich if I eat at a Potbelly.
(4)Aaron B.
Love this shop at lunch time. Close to DC where I work. Some of the best subs I've ever had, 10x better than Submway and cheaper too.
(5)Kate S.

(4)Abegail A.
(3)Lynwood M.
Great hot sandwich. Thin sub roll toasted well. Peppers made it special. Could have gotten a small soup with it and they looked good. Big selection of chips and cookies. Good place for kids or low cost working lunch. Music is great.
(4)Lorraine W.
Want to have Smoked Ham so i went here. They have this small nice place, dining tables were great. They had this pleasant ambiance that I loved the most. Ordered the smoked ham, it was fantastic. Love it with the swiss cheese.
(4)Elaine W.
(4)Trina J.
Very good food and service!!! Everyone was friendly, service was fast!! Good location on the Harbor too!!
(5)Jacqui B.
(4)Stephanie W.
Very good sandwiches at a reasonable price, but my friend asked for white bread and got wheat and I asked for no mushrooms and they were on my sandwich. Overall good food but not the best service
(3)Jaime W.
(1)Nadia N.
Awesome staff! Awesome food! Definitely worth the cost, neat and clean! Highly recommended I will continue to go back, better than firehouse subs.
(5)Katy L.
In the sea of overpriced garbage that surrounds the convention center, Potbellys is the one place I would go for the fun of it. These guys are amazing. The food is good, the line is quick (if there even is one) and everything is incredibly inexpensive. You can easily get food and drinks for two for we
(5)Ken C.
Service. Service. Service. Need a lot of work. Not sure if they change staff, but it wasn't the same anymore. I only experience lunch hours.
(2)Elizabeth T.
My sandwich was served fast and hot. It was reasonably priced, full of flavor, and I had a great view of the National Harbor while I was eating. Overall, this is a great place to grab a quick bite.
(4)Rachel N.
My office orders food from here ALL the time. We always order online and our order is always ready at the time they promise. The service is great and the food is even better :) Oh! And it's super affordable, I can eat here for under $10 and in this day and age it's hard to find a quality lunch for less than $10.
(5)Pete C.
Great selection. Good value. Solid shakes! When they ask which toppings, say, "All of em!"
(5)Jenny H.
(3)Michelle A.
The food was good, however the service was horrible. I was treated like an inconvenience from start to finish. If you can deal with horrible customer service then you'll be fine but the food definitely didn't out weigh the lack of service.
(2)Tim M.
Had lunch here today. The line moved swiftly, prices were good and food wqs delicious. This was my first time eating here. I'm sold. Subways is old news. I got the Wreck sandwich. OMG. It was so tasty! Not much to say about this smalll sandwich shop other than their great!
(5)Michael S.

UGHH
(1)Amber R.
(5)Marc S.
Great prices for National Harbor, cool atmosphere. Loved the meatball sub. My wife had the Italian...I thought it was so-so. They have good bread with typical cold cut meats and cheese. Don't go out of your way.
(4)Al T.
(3)Jody D.
Ordered the Mediterranean sandwich on wheat. It was pretty good and very filling. They toast it which actually made the entire sandwich. Fast service and nice staff.
(3)Lynn K.
(3)Daijonee V.
area: easy to get to, only 10 min or less walk from the convention center inside: the design to get food, take out or dine in was a little confusing. it had a small little area for the line to start but sitting was difficult cause it was crowded. they had live music, which was nice. staff: Upon waiting on the line you placed your order an they made your sandwich in front of you for the most part, you got to see what was put on it. food: I got the grilled chicken with chedder sandwich on wheat bread, my bf got A-wreck and Tuna salad both on wheat bread. price wise it was ok, cause i expected to pay a little bit out of town, all sandwiches where pretty tasty but i dont think it was worth the price. i also got the peppermint shake both times...i loved it, it came with a cookie on the straw but the 2nd time they didnt put a cookie and the cashiers response was "we didnt prep it...." and stared at me when i asked for one. i was waiting for i am sorry miss, we are out/unable to put it on due to....blah blah....i work in retail. if your unable to do your normal service because of an unexpected crowd ( which it was valentines weekend ) you should be more on point with the excuse. used this place to get food outside of the Gaylord international convention. The food was good, for a sandwhich place, upon coming home i saw one in NYC....i found it amusing i wouldnt visit it tho
(3)Jason R.
(5)Benji C.
(4)Louis P.
(4)Bobby L.
(4)Sarah H.
(1)Chalee T.
(5)Carolyn B.
Line took too long at they seemed to not have it together. had to ask the person to repeat multiple times what she was asking. Highly unimpressed.
(2)Lauren S.
The sandwich wasn't bad, but not earth shattering. It's like one step up from a Subway. Prices are reasonable, and the menu is simple. But this isn't a place I'd say should be on your top ten places to eat in this area. Or any area really.
(3)Tiffany N.
Food was great however the lady prepping my sandwich was too busy cracking jokes instead of making my sandwich the right way.
(3)R L.
(1)Krissy M.
(4)Dan R.
(3)Brian M.
(3)Lendsey C.
Despite the wait during the lunch rush I enjoyed the food---it was well flavored, appealing to look at it, and quite filling.
(4)Faye F.
(3)Michelle S.
(3)Kyle M.
(4)Lawrence C.
I'm kinda sick of Potbelly's so this review is somewhat skewed. The problem is that I'm not really a sandwich guy, and for some reason all my friends are. Its a good sandwich, but to me, sandwiches are just really bland and unimaginative.
(3)Stephen B.

Wanted a good salad and came here to get one. Must have been a bad day because it was awful. Very disappointed.

This is a chain that I have stopped at in a number of different areas. For fresh tasting sandwiches it is actually amazing that they can be so consistent. If you are looking for a quick, fresh sandwich then I suggest giving them a try. They also have really good soup and the entire meal is very reasonably priced.

Customer Service - below average Food - Nothing good 'ol Subway can't beat.

This one is easy - sandwiches are awesome, prices are reasonable, customer service could be a tad better.
